SP BEECH 22400-3B

$3.50 per sq. ft.

Spalted Beech stands out as one of our most distinctive veneer options, requiring several years to
develop. The term “spalting” is used to explain the process wherein specific fungi colonize dead or fallen
trees within the forest. Using a unique blend of fungi, logs are treated and rotated for several months,
setting in motion a microscopic transformation within the tree. This process results in an array of
unpredictable patterns, characterized by vivid black lines against soft pastel hues. High-quality spalted
veneers are exceptionally rare, as spalting and dry rot typically occur in tandem.
