| Ebony, Macassar Quartered. Quarter cut, broad, consistent straight stripe. Thirty years ago we called this type of Macassar Ebony "Coromandel" to distinguish it from other Ebonies. The blacks are a little deeper and sharper (tres charbonne) and the lights are brighter. It's tighter and smoother than most with a nice luster. Dark and exotic yet bright and alluring-the premium level of a luxury specie. 4-8" wide by 87-114" long. |
