| Ebony, Macassar Quartered. Quarter cut, broad, consistent straight stripe. Thirty years ago we called this type of Macassar Ebony "Coromandel" to distinguish it from other Ebonies. The blacks are a little deeper and sharper (tres charbonne) and the lights are brighter. It's tighter and smoother than most with a nice luster. Dark and exotic yet bright and alluring-the premium level of a luxury specie. 6.5-9" wide by 46-56" long. Shorter bundles of fairly straight stripe. |
